A 60 x minutes consultation held online to discuss you or your child's background history and determine whether a neurodevelopmental assessment is recommended.
A 60 x minute movement based assessment to determine whether some of you or your child's difficulties are a result of retained primitive reflexes otherwise known as immaturities in the way the nervous system developed. This includes a written report and a 45 x minute report reading held online to discuss the results.
A movement based programme that lasts for 9 - 12 months and consists of 20 x minutes of daily exercises that you complete at home or with your child. We will meet monthly for 60 x minute reviews that can be held remotely, in person or at your home.
A final, 60 x minute movement based assessment at the end of your programme to sign you off once the retained primitive reflexes have integrated. This includes a written report and a 45 x minute report reading, online to discuss whether the difficulties you or your child initially presented with have improved.
Primitive reflexes are automatic, involuntary movements present at birth that help infants survive and develop. Examples include sucking, grasping, and startling. As the brain develops (especially the cortex), these reflexes are meant to integrate meaning higher brain centres take control.
When a reflex is retained, it stays active past infancy (typically beyond 6–12 months). This suggests the nervous system hasn’t fully matured or integrated that reflex.
Emotional dysregulation: anxiety, emotional overreaction, sensitivity to noise/light, poor stress tolerance,
Physical and motor difficulties: difficulty crossing midline, handwriting issues, poor coordination, poor fine motor control, speech/ articulation issues, balance problems, motion sensitivity, low muscle tone, poor spatial awareness
Academic difficulties: reading, maths
Attention difficulties: fidgeting, difficulty sitting still, challenges with focus and processing
Children (commonly noticed in school years)
Adolescents
Adults (often undiagnosed)
The idea of neuroplasticity means the brain always has the capacity to rewire if it is provided with the right stimulation. The first stage is to determine whether the reflexes are retained through a neurodevelopmental assessment. If they are, I will design a bespoke neurodevelopmental programme to help integrate these reflexes using a series of exercises that stimulate the nervous system in very specific ways. These exercises are repeated daily until the physical reflex response changes during reviews. This process usually takes 9 - 12 months following which, the nervous system matures and symptomatic improvement should be noticeable 6 - 12 months beyond completion of a programme.

"Jessie is a very kind and calm practitioner, my daughter always looks forward to seeing her. Jessie is very knowledgeable and has worked hard to figure out alternatives when we haven’t seen the progress we may have expected. She always explains clearly the reasons why she recommends a certain intervention. She always makes my daughter feel at ease and is extremely patient!"
